I’ve been hunting for water chestnuts without sulfites for ages, and these finally hit the mark—just crisp, clean slices straight from the can. They held their crunch in my salad all afternoon, which never happens with other brands.
These stayed remarkably crisp after being tossed through my sesame dressing, and I didn't notice any of that metallic aftertaste some canned veggies have. The clean, unsulfured taste is a nice bonus.
I normally drain canned veggies without thinking, but these sliced water chestnuts kept their crunch so well I added them straight to a stir-fry and a salad the same week. Knowing they're processed without any sulfites or preservatives makes the crisp texture feel even better.
